I stare intently into my bathroom mirror looking closely. Scrutinizing. Wondering…
How did I get here?
What led to this point in my life?
How much longer can this go on?
When was my last haircut?

No matter what’s going on inside that cute head of yours, the stuff that comes out is always funny.

Tee hee.
Well I think mine was before Thanksgiving and I’m going next week to FINALLY get mine cut and highlighted (I attempted to highlight my own hair before the holidays and it wasn’t a success.)

Oh man – I ask that last question all the time. I think I end up going like once or twice a year by the time I have just had it and decide it’s really worth the 30 bucks to go get it cut again. Right now, I’m going on 5 months since the last one. Yikes.

At the risk of sounding prejudiced, you were the cutest little red-headed baby ever born, and not much has changed! Happy Birthday, little girl (yes, you will always be my little girl–forever). Love, Dad

Malia, can I say that I am proud to call you my friend. I have watched you evolve and I can say that you have walked with the Spirit. You have chosen well in so many ways and for that you should be proud. Maybe the mirror thing is just a reflection on your life…you haven’t made appearances the most important thing.
And can I say that the words from your dad are priceless and if that were your only birthday gift you would be the luckiest girl alive.
Happy birthday!!!…..late….

I often wonder the same things (except the haircut–I know it was the last time my mother in law was in town: free). What would be the outcome had I made different decisions in my life-big ones like marrying my wonderful husband or little ones like coloring my hair.
Lots of what ifs!!
